To be fair I think it was a foul and would have been given anywhere else on the pitch but he just made himself look a bit of a #@&%! with the stupid late dive.

He felt he had to go down, otherwise Styles as not going to spot it and he was right. There was no way he'd have given it simply for the foul, but it's Catch 22, coz going down didn't get it either!

I don't think I have ever seen a thread on a liverpool forum berating Gerrard for diving. Can we not all just pretend that Ronaldo is dead against diving, has been critical of divers in a piece of shite book and that a couple of his teammates have said they will cut it out of their game because it would anger him. That way we can ignore it.

It was a definite pen - so you are spot on (no pun intended). I tend to ignore Shazza (pet name) most of the time anyhow.

He wasn't tackled, he was fouled and he didn't go down 10 seconds later, he tried to stay on his feet.

correct, it was a clear dive, he would most probably score if he didnt fall down like a bomb had gone off behind him.

he was fouled first though, if he went down immediately then it should have been a penalty.
