Exclamation Fergie confirms Rooney and Hargreaves are back for Wednesday

Yet more injury news to cheer....but this time we should actually be glad.

The Reds will have Wayne Rooney and Owen Hargreaves back in action for the trip to Lisbon this week.

United have been without Rooney since the opening day of the season when he suffered a metatarsal fracture in his left foot, while Hargreaves has been troubled by a knee injury.

Rooney had been expected to play a part in Saturday's 1-0 win over his former club Everton, but Reds boss Sir Alex opted to rest the 21-year-old striker, who instead trained over the weekend in preparation for Wednesday's visit to Portugal.

"They'll both be ok for Wednesday," Sir Alex told MUTV after the victory at Goodison Park.

"We took medical advice on Wayne and as he had only started training on Monday, we felt that five days' training was maybe a bit short.

"But he trained on Saturday morning, Sunday and he'll train right through until Wednesday. By that point he will definitely be available for the match against Sporting Lisbon."

No mention of Saha who won't start, AGAIN. He's being saved for the big Coventry game, though he won't start.

Definately. The Scholes/Hargreaves/Carrick midfield hasn't played great so far. If Scholes insits on playing deep, hopefully Carrick will be pushed futher forward, as he was (playing his best game in the shirt) against Roma at OT.

If Saha is the "1" upfront, I think it'll work a lot better then before.

He didn't mention any other players apart from those two.

I really wish you'd stop. This kind of irrational rambling doesn't suit you or do you justice.

I will be happy with 4-3-3 if the front 3 are ronaldo, rooney and tevez/saha. If giggs features in this game in the front 3, it will be embarassing.

Rambling? Dunno what you mean, if he doesn't start this week, what game are you gonna say he's being kept for I wonder?

Well, he has an advantage over Saha, he isn't scared of starting football matches.

The manager says he's fit, so the only reason I can imagine he didn't start on Saturday is because he will start against Lisbon and Chelsea. I hope so anyway.

I'd be very worried if we played Tevez upfront on his own again.
