Default Villa 1 United 2 - 1993

Haven't seen footage from this game in years, it was a great match.

Game which first got me properly supporting United. My first away game, i was 8 and went with my dad. Lee Sharpe was my favorite player back then and part of the reason i love Villa Park.

cracking game. black kit. floodlights. villa park. sharpey as king. giggs' mop-top. ince and keane bossing the midfield. schmeichel getting done at the near post and blaming everyone else

dalian atkinson, i remember that fucker giving us the runaround on more than one occasion.

think we won by the same score the season after as well, probably gary walsh's best game for us iirc

great side. mind you, take ince, hughes and kanchelskis out of that side and it would really struggle.

I know the point you are trying to make, but unfortunately it is untrue.

That team was built on an absolutely brilliant defence, I think I am right in syaing that when we ligned up with Parker, Irwin, Pally, Bruce and Schmikes we didn't lose a game

One other observation to make is that it's just highlights what a remarkable player Giggs is. This was 17 years ago and he is still playing at the very top level now, it's freakish and I don't think we will ever see a player repeat it, certainly not an outfield player.
