It's true, one inherited a title winning team with a spine of Vidic, Rio, Evra, Giggs, Carrick, Fletcher, Rooney, Hernandez, Van Persie.

The other got a team that were 6th, 11 points off top four with a spine of Lindelof, Bailly, Fred and Lukaku.

The fact that anyone put Moyes above Ole, even temporarily, is utterly £#%&!ing mental.

I personally don't think its as black as white as that, I was no Moyes fan and thought it was also ludicrous that we hired him. If we weren't going to appoint Mourinho then I think that dressing room would have only respected Ancelotti and maybe even Capello out of managers that would have been gettable, not saying either would have been great or even good but they command respect at least. Even Klopp at that point wasn't an obvious shout.

Asking Rio and Vida to think what Jagielka would have done in that situation.
Getting Pip to tell Van Persie he was practicing his free kicks incorrectly.
Overplaying older players.
Wee Jimmy Lumsden, who's worked with some of the best, like Jim Smith.

Short memories some people.

Moyes didn't get 3 years and £460m though. And Moyes won a trophy.

Moyes bought Fellaini. But Ole bought AWB for £50m.

It's not as clear cut as you make out.

Compare Moyes's CL performance to Ole's as well. He actually did alright.

That's probably because by April we were midtable and couldn't even get top four.

And the Charity Shield isn't a trophy, but even if you want to consider it one, this is what Moyes had to say after we won it.

Even he doesn't think he won it ffs

It's one more shit trophy, won with someone else's team, against Wigan, more than the current incumbent has managed though.

Not the only factor of course, but it has to be in the conversation.

It was an isolated win in a pre-season friendly against a championship team. That’s all it was. Moyes, LVG, Jose and Ole would all have won that game.
