A bit harsh perhaps but I understand the sentiment. Still a class player when fit as his form at the back end of last season showed. Unfortunately not fit long enough these days and you'd have to think that with each passing injury he's only going to get slower.

Smalling and Vidic would be my first choice pairing.

In these cases you'd usually just get your biggest, strongest midfielder to fill in as an emergency - it's £#%&!ing bad shit when our biggest, strongest enforcer is Carrick, £#%&! me??

Javi Martinez would have been quite useful at the moment...

Taking the piss how often we have 4 CB's out injured, how do we manage that, particularly when they're not even playing. Fitness and conditioning at the Club needs to be looked at, our injury record is abysmal.
