It was a bit worse than that Fuzz.
He threw his boot to the ground when he took it off

Now I'm all for a bit of 'passion' in the game, but these players are Role Models for crying out loud. There could have been Children watching last night.
All this violent & aggressive behaviour filters down into the youth Leagues.
When you're on £100grand a week you should be expected to behave.
I'd fine him a months wages & UEFA should look into it. I expect & morally demand a 6 match ban.

Yours sincerely, generic TalkSport caller/Brian Woolnough

Was rooney spat at?Just watching it now and it looked like he said something to someone in the crowd and then you see what looks like spit come towards him as he reaches the bench.

To be fair, he had to do that because that utter @#%&! Martin Tyler was determined to set the agenda and make it a sensational story. He mentioned it every five minutes on the commentary: "That Scholes goal may take Wayne Rooney off the back pages tomorrow". Even Andy Gray wasn't interested.

It snowballs too. The more people get wound up, the more 'incidents' are focused on in a blaze of outraged publicity, with each incident being more blown up than the previous one. As we all know, if any of it involves United, multiply by 50.

In a year or two it will be 'FA to look into throw-in outrage' after Patrice Evra takes a throw-in three yards too far forward, leading to ten minutes of play that leads to a goal for United.

Shreeves is a chair moistener of the highest order. He asks simple closed questions that your average 18yo could fend off. It must be a gift of an interview for a professional footballer who's been trained to deal with the media.
