Default Anyone think David Silva is better than Mata?

Just been having a conversation with my daft @#%&! blue cousin and I was astounded to hear that he thinks Silva is better than Mata

Don't get me wrong I am not dismissing Silva as rubbish although I do believe he is and always has been overrated but I think Mata has left him way behind this year and is still improving.

Given the choice would any of you take Silva above the Matador?

Both top top players tha anyone would like in their side. Mata seems to be having a better season and scores a lot more.

tricky one

Silva was ace last season until round about this point, when he disappeared until the last few games

Mata has been a lot better this season than he was last season (unless he wasn't even at Chelsea - I can't really remember )

Scholes was the best centre mid in the league in the 2nd half of last season though

Jamie Redknapp claiming Mata didn't go to Euro 2012. I must have dreamed that goal he scored in the final then

Mata has 16 goals this season. Silva has only 17 in his city career. Silva should produce quite a bit more in terms of goals and 'assists' when you consider his ability.

Coutinho.

Me auld fella says he's better than Rivelino ever was. Was wellin' up when he signed.

Mata is absolutely superb. Seems like a nice guy as well, where as Silva strikes me as an anti social cousin.

Like Silva as a player but Mata has been on another level this season.

I actually think hes gettable, especially if Chelsea finish outside the top 4 which is eminently possible.

Last season silva was ace. this season he has gone off the boil (similar to 2-3 months in 2nd half the last season).

Mata has been outstanding probably only behind RVP and Rafael for best player in premier league award...

Mata will end up being better than silva since he has the burst of pace that silva doesn't have.
