Default New contract for Hargreaves?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...am-return.html

Best be pay as you play.

What a complete waste of money that man turned out to be.

It suggests to me that his career isn't over and if he proves his fintness, why not offer him a new contract? It's not his fault he's been out injured.

We did rather well in his first season I seem to remember?

I'd rather take a positive from this, that it sounds like reports of his death may have been greatly exaggerated, you know with them offering him another contract.

Ahh the old Hargreaves debate. I think I've done very well to not say I told you so.

So, if he makes it back to first team football and proves his fitness he'll get a one year extension to his current deal.

Fair enough.

I don't think we'd have won the CL 2 years ago with jagielka in midfield instead of him personally.

Good news. I'd love to see him back. Has the bite and drive that we missed on Sunday.

Think thats a bit over the top, didnt well in the 07/08 season. Just remember the free kick aganist Arsenal / the pen in the final, when he had to score to keep us in it.

Cant wait until he's back!

He's burned his bridges with his new haircut.

He can join Grimson and his 'dog' in the Camp Van.

I think we would have with Pip Neville there and super Jags on the bench covering if amnything went wrong. We'd also have another 16 milion paid off the debt. I hope we have him insured.

Hardly a waste of money.
He played a huge part in the Double winning season of 2007/08
...even if that's all he ever does in a United shirt he'll be part of the Club's history.

He's a terrific player & we'd have won the League a lot more comfortably (& probably retained the European Cup) if he'd played any football last season.

I like him anyway.
He seems like a good lad & he brings a lot to the side when he's playing.

All the best Cougar

When he's back & fit, the question will be 'who will be his partner in midfield?' because he's an automatic choice imo.

So because he did well for 3 months he wasnt a waste of money? Come on...

What about for the last 12 months? £80k a week for doing £#%&! all.

Bullshit.

And Bryansrobsonsliver might be too classy to refrain from saying I told you so, but the abuse I got for hoping the Hargreaves deal would fall through due to his pathetic injury record BEFORE he joined United was ridiculous. I was right as usual. I have nothing agaist him personally, hes a good player when fit.

So many people on here hated Saha, yet Hargreaves constantly gets his arse licked when hes been even worse and cost us even more in transfer fee and wages. Why? WHY

Still its not like it wasn't going to be obvious, I did point out at the time (more than once if I remember) that when we bought him Saha had made more first team appearences in the last season than he had in the last 2. Shame he is quite a decent player, if he had good fitness record he might have been worth the money.
