Good first half from the Spaniards. They've passed the ball, but they've done so pretty quickly and they haven't overdone it too much in the way that they sometimes have a tendency to. Although it has to be said that if the Russians had a bit more quality in the final third they could have had a goal or two themselves.

By the way, who played the ball to Torres for the first goal?

Capdevilla, with his right foot.

The thought of Villa wearing the United shirt is a very appealing one.

Make it happen Ferguson.

Desailly knows much more about football than everyone on this forum put together.

Was a great pass then, no? My first thought was that had come off a Russian player. Not accustomed to seeing the Spanish playing the ball forward so quickly

Still not sure I fancy Spain against a better side, mind. Not too impressed with their tactical play in the defensive phase, and I think they could struggle a bit against a side who presses in the midfield more intelligently.

Very good piece of quick thinking from Capdevilla.

I still think their problems will be in defence.

Fabregas not offside?

Slightly flattering result, Spain's defending the last 20 minutes hasn't been very good.

you can afford them that though. their creativity and skill infront of the back 4 is superb.

Can't argue that. Better opponents might punish them a bit more tho.
