If a player from Milan, Madrid or (by the looks of it) the scouse @#%&!s had had a season like Ronnie's, top scorer and instrumental in his sides triumph both at home and in Europe; he'd be guaranteed to win every international honour.

Would take their 'reports' with a grain of salt.

Ronaldo will win it, 2 weeks of football in which Torres was quite average does not outweigh a record breaking season of brilliance from Ronaldo where he won the 2 big ones.

If he doesnt get it this year it would all but confirm their anti PL agenda. And probably be more motivation for the glory seeking Ronaldo to leave England.
Yeah, he's won £#%&! all here.

Ronaldo has been the worlds best player fo 18 months now.

For him not to get it would be a joke.

Surely the fact the Premiership players have voted him number 1 in the league for the season (AGAIN) should dictate that nobody else from this country should be in with a shout.

couldn't care less to be honest - he's done his job and won us the domestic and european double. it would further serve to inflate his ego if he won (he does deserve it, of course)
he won't be 'our @#%&!' for much longer now anyway. he isn't in all but name

Ronbaldo plays for United all season is considered the best in the world. He plays for someone else for 2 weeks and slips to 3rd. I'm struggling to sympathise to be honest.

In reality it illustrates how much import is given to a summer championship. A deeply flawed method, Cannovara was a dubious winner in 2006, he was excellent in the world cup but had a a mediocre domestic season. Arshavin being mentioned on the basis of 2(Two) good games takes the biscuit though. He did well with Zenit, but at a lower level tournament than the CL.

Torres was pretty average in the Euro's as well, scored the winner of course but at times looked clumsy and knackered.

As mentioned Ronaldo has been the best player in world football for 18 months+. If Casilas gets it it will further play into him wanting to go to Madrid, which he may believe is the only way he will get these awards.

Ronaldo at UTD = "£#%&! me, it´s his award, Torres is shit" etc
Ronaldo at R Madrid (sooner rather than later) = "Good! Never deserved it anyway!"

Football fans live to be fickle. I thank you.
