The final of the two jammiest teams in this competition's history.

Probably bitter but our two wins I've seen under Fergie were near perfect campaigns. We actually won the league title too. Whereas these two clubs can salvage a season with this tournament. Referee calls, dodgy breaks, preferrable draws, a good bounce. Real Madrid's win against Bayern reminded me of some of our exits. Bayern threw the kitchen sink at them yet Madrid get a rookie error to score. That's been Madrid's MO for the past three years - when they look under the cosh something happens that changes the tide. Hopefully they do it one more time but for a side to be three straight winners yet only once win their own league with it, that's not a team I rank as really special.

They tend to progress through each stage of the competition before, due to the power of elimination, they are only one of two teams left. These two teams play each other in a match known as 'the final' and the winner wins the trophy. Some they have won, some they have lost.

HTH

It does. Ta.

How come no other team in England is able to do it with such regularity?

Yes, on the way beating teams such as "bye" or "heads or tails?".
