Every other manager in the league, including Mou, have some sort of budget to stick to and can't rip up a squad after 18 months. They all have to work with what they've got to some degree

Guardiola on the other hand...

Yeah Wilfred Bony was a Pep inspired choice too.

City always wanted Guardiola. He took a long time committing to them. In fact those high up at Bayern thought it might be United. But obviously we were dead set on the Giggs succession plan. Another spur of the moment idea we dropped as soon as the waters got choppy.

Absolute cringe seeing people talk about an “unlimited budget” tbh

Same accusations were thrown at us during most of Fergie’s era. Was the secret to our success the money spent or the manager we had?

The idea he’s benefited from their preparing the squad for his arrival has always been a myth. That’s what they should have been doing, but instead he’s had to change pretty much 80% of the squad.
Do not spout rubbish.. Everybody knew he was lined up for City for years.. He went to Munich on a 3 year deal knowing he was going to city next.. If had of won the champions league at Munich he still would have left fir city, but because he was a failure in munich he left after 3 seasons.. he did jack shit in europe because munich did not give him a blank cheque book..

If he sold more he could buy more

No chance would our board have sanctioned £250m on a new back five plus attacking players in 18 months, but that's basically what city have done

Of course he Mou money spend, a lot more than most managers would dream of, but he still has restraints and a budget to stick too. Guardiola doesn't and buy who he wants while not worrying about selling players to balance the books

Plus he was left with a better squad in the first place...

Well that is conjecture, but it misses the point anyway. Which is that they didn’t do a good job of preparing the squad for him. So he didn’t benefit from the (supposed) planning.

Truth bomb.
City have the biggest budget in the country. We have the second. We really can't complain.

£75m went on a player who is horrible to watch. That's a choice.

Give him £200m extra and he wouldn't turn us in to anything I want to see.

Poor little United trying bravely to fight against all the odds

It’s genuinely pathetic.

Erm, we didn't have an unlimited budget though did we. We had more than the others but still had to balance the books etc

City DO have an unlimited budget, they can throw all sort of money at players and if that player doesn't work out then they'll just ship him out and sign another

What City are doing and can do is on another level.
