Just woke up on somebody's floor in Lloret. We were staying somewhere else but had got a taxi to Lloret to meet everyone else and ended up staying there.

Jumped on a train to Barcelona and ended up getting an hours kip on a grass verge at about 6am.

We might as well have not booked a room. Only went there twice, once to drop my bag off and once to pick it up.

As one stupid pissed up fool said to me at the time " We may as well stop now as it will never be as good as this again"

And to be honest it hasn't been, not even Moscow comes close.

I woke up with a broken cheek bone after falling head first off a skip trying to outsing a German.
Tried to stumble back to my hotel room in Callella with one side of my face swollen to £#%&!, but I had no joy as Ive never been so pissed in my life.
Next thins a couple of coppers saw the state I was in and put me into the back of a Police van. As I was sat in the back I realised I had my Dad's and Corrigan's ticket in my pocket. Thought to myself some people arn't going to be happy. So I just kept on banging on the cage shouting Hotel Pensioner! Hotel Pensioner! After a five minute drive the doors open and I think to myself here we go biggest game of all time and I'm going to spend it in a £#%&!ing spanish Police cell, so I try my best to act sober and as they lead me out of the van they had only given me a Police escort to the Hotel.
After about an hours kip I was woken up by Corrigan to the words 'what the £#%&! have you done to your face'
Spent the rest of the day on the Ramblas rough as £#%&! then onto the Nou Camp to watch the boys bag the Big one.
Best day of my life.

The goons that night will never, ever be matched.

The front of my legs were cut and the backs of them had massive, matching purple bruises across them at calf level. Looked like I'd been batoned.

At work, browsing on the original red paged RI forum, watching the clock, unable to concentrate on anything but what was to come...

Airborne ex Luton () in advance of getting trashed on La Ramblas and miraculously making it to the game without passing out / getting arrested.

Still brings a tear to my eye when I see OGS scoring the winner.

don't think I have ever been so hyped for a game, one of the few times i rang my dad after a game, he was there in 68, and was mgr from the 40's so had been through munich, so i knew it would have meant the world to him.

At college. Revising for my a-levels.

Then went home and watched the final with my grandad. It was the last trophy he ever saw united win. Thankgod I got to share the moment with him.

I kipped on a mates hotel room floor, the rest of our lot didnt get accomodation and slept in the park at the bottom of the ramblas.

The night before the game was brillaint just loads and loads of chilled out reds enjoying the ambience of the ramblas before the carnage the following day.

I jibbed a coach back after the game to benidorm and got a ferry back to Ibiza the next day.

Great week and an amazing 10 days of footie

At this precise moment I ( and Mrs F and my two brothers ) was/were flat out in the car in an underground carpark. We'd headed north to Preston on the Tuesday to pick up my youngest brother. He'd taken his final exam of his finals and I couldn't trust him to make his way back home to Sth Mcr in a quick and efficient way and had visions of him having just the one last drink with his mates before he said goodbye.. So we set off from Preston at lunchtime, drove down to the chunnel.. I was on a tight schedule and wanted as much of Wednesday in Barcelona itself. My other brother took over driving duties at Callais whilst I had a kip ..Couldn't believe it when he woke me to get some cash out because we were leaving the AutoRoute and about to go through the toll booth.. at Lyon. He'd done it from it in approximately 4 hours !!

Eventually got to Barcelona about 6 in the morning.. Iwas quite disappointed as for some reason, despite the time I assumed there'd be signs of United.. We dropped down into an underground which was stifling and very hot be we all crashed out for 4 or 5 hours. It was the sound of general revelry from above that woke us.. I went up to do a reccy and the place was just heaving with United fans.

I'd also wager that we had as many there as those self proclaimed greatest supporters in the world, Celtic took to Seville... or even City took to Blackburn.

Simply the greatest sporting occasion I've ever witnessed.

Concur totally, and if I'm being honest.. as a result, and as nothing ever will come that close again, it just doesn't matter to me as much now..
