West Ham just paid £27m for a relatively unknown defender from Rennes, Newcastle paid £32m or so for another.

McTommers might not be especially inspiring but he's a no risk, proven PL player that will do a good job for any mid-table side. Leicester, Everton, Wolves, Newcastle even & he's versatile, scored a handful each season. I don't see why he wouldn't command decent money. I just don't see Utd ever wanting to get rid of him tbh given his temperament & the fact he's homegrown.

Martinez is going to be such a good addition. Several times the RW or rb is in space with the ball on United left but Fred not lindelof have the passing range for the cross field ball.

Lindelof on the left side atleast will struggle for the cross field to the right side quickly

It's just so much quicker, players look mostly comfortable on the ball (usual suspects aside) & we know there are upgrades to come in. Enjoying it.

This. Has to be said he isn’t a DM either, but that’s what he’s asked to do the majority of the time.

So much sense in one post.
It's just we are entering a 4th season with him and Fred as 1st choice in midfield that right there is our decline.

Can see why ETH wants De Jong. McFred can press but aren’t technically good enough on the break.
