If they play 4-4-2 they're gonna start battering the poorer sides again

someone- Lampard-Essien-Malouda

Torres- Drogba

Is impressive.

We had this EXACT same thread last season, i'm sure of it. Someone was telling us how Arsenal had a piss easy run in and they'd get maximum points and win the league. They didn't, obviously.

But like Thrills said, its the same every year. They win some games, people think theyve turned a corner, then they get injuries/suspensions, they get carried away in Europe and forget their league form and before you know it they're out of contention.

It isn't that simple though is it?

It might all just click but asking a team (and manager!) that has thrived playing a narrow 4-3-3 to adopt overnight to playing a free-flowing 4-4-2 is quite a big ask.

Edit: Malouda isn't a natural wide player for starters, he's been their best player over the last 18 months playing through the middle.

Keep the narrowness and go for a diamond in midfield then, deffo the biggest threat I think

Frank Lampard is a £#%&!ing liability in a midfield 2 as well.

Ancelotti will probably try his diamond again that he used at Milan.

True indeed.

The one at Stamford Bridge was a good one too though - wasn't it a free-kick wrongly given, offside and a foul?

I think they'll struggle to accomodate Torres & Drogba, personally. Neither likes to drop deep/wide like Anelka or Kalou is happy to.

The biggest threat to United this season is ourselves £#%&!ing it up from this position. We should win it at a canter from here.

Do they need to drop deep though, play both of them on the centre backs and haver lampard running into the space from slightly deeper.......Not a lot of creativity but they will bully teams again.

Yeah, haven't got any idea what i'm on about tbh. Just thought i'd join in a football thread. Don't think I've seen Chelsea play all season.
