He's actually a top manager who's done a fantastic job. Not quite in the Fergie bracket but I'd place him over and above the likes of the 'Special One', Ancelotti and Peter Reid.
It doesn't all come down to winning the title. If it did, that'd make Sir Matt pretty average for around 20 of the 25 years he managed. You've got to look beyond that to see what sort of job's being done. Not sure how Wenger's managed to come out top of the pile, all the same. |
