I cant believe that 4 people are suggesting that Ryan Giggs has been a better player than Rooney and Ronaldo

Its the end of the 00's you know, not the £#%&!ing 90's

42 goals in 2007/08 is reason enough on its own. Don't think he'd be too many supporters' favourite player of the decade (he isn't in my top three), but certainly the best.

We were spoiled having him here.

6 league titles and easily United's best, most inspirational, most respected and most feared player in Europe over the entire decade. Ronaldo only had anything like that for 3 seasons at United. No-one else has got even close, with the possible exception of Scholes.

Ronnie head and shoulders for all the reasons mentioned plus the amount of physical stick he took week in week. One tough mother.

The best player in world at United for the first time since the days of Best, Charlton and Law.

We'll not see his like at Old Trafford for maybe another 40 years, who knows.

Well if we are choosing "six of the best" five pretty much pick themselves IMO:

Giggs, Scholes, Ruud, Rooney and Ronnie that is........

But who should be number 6??

I wouldnt mind putting Evra's name forward for that number 6 spot

I've been really impressed with him, not since day 1, but shortly after

The lads passion and work rate is un-rivalled

and he is off his £#%&!ing rocker

VDS also

In fact, there's a case for Rio, certainly ahead of Giggs.

Hmm.......I would say Giggsy deserves his place in there; if nothing else for sheer longevity. Nobody else (Scholes can't *quite* manage it IMO) can claim to be an indispensable player for us at both ends of the decade, to start games whenever possible

Cristiano Ronaldo. Easily the most exciting footballer I've ever watched.

united of the later ferguson era have been a team built around scholes imo. of course he's a faded force these days but it has always been scholes, not ronaldo, not keane, not giggs, who has orchestrated the play of the team.

i know some will say i'm exaggerating but i've said it before, when scholes plays, united play. we'll be able to replace any other player in time, however wonderful they are. but not scholes. he's not only a unique player, he's been the heart of the side for over a decade. united's style has been scholes' style, simple as that.

the only person more integral to united's success has been sir alex himself imo.

I've never been more excited than when Steve Lomas got the ball and headed towards the corner flag.

Other than that, Ronaldo tbh.

Shouldn't there be a poll as well for *worst* United player of the decade??

If it were left up to me, there would be a landslide winner - L Miller esq, our ONLY signing I can remember without *any* redeeming features whatsoever. After all, even the twins had a handful of good games (and didn't Manucho score a goal once??)

It would also be interesting to see how many embittered, obsessive #@&%!s insisted on voting for a certain Eastern European import

there a few decent players on there - but ronaldo became what he's become whilst with us - always a chance with him in the team.

I know the prince is rightly regarded in very high esteem by some incredible players, but I have to go ronaldo.

I agree - and his fading several years ago has led to far less entertaining Utd teams.

Including one's built around that poor excuse for a man, Ronaldo.

For the majority of this decade, certainly from 2000-2007 scholes has been consistently excellent, there has been an obvious dip in the last couple of seasons, due to age, but his contribution to utd's success has been immeasurable and why he ain't won any of the players awards in those years has been baffling.
