Chimi looks good.....

You've lost so much quality cooking by using a tbone in sous vide....

6.3/10

It's almost 'well done'

Fred in a nutshell - it's either about to stand up as it's too rare or it's cremated

It was a perfect pink medium rare - that being said, I trashed the place making it compared to a straightforward 'f*** it in the pan & cook it' job.

I'm not sure I've cooked anything in the sous vide yet that wasn't a bollock ache.

Medium rare !!!!

It's that overdone that as it's resting as you eat the last bit is 100% over done....

Very uneven cook...

The whole thing with the sous vide is it canít cook past the temperature you set, so under 130 is medium rare & a flash in the pan for 60secs each side to reverse sear and itís done. Whole steak was as consistent as you can get

Would smash that. Fantastic looking steak but no need for the sous vide - pretentious balls.

I only used it as I've had it hung up next to the skateboard & judo suit gathering dust for 18 months, place to myself & a Monday evening - felt like killing a bit of time & putting the effort in to see if it was worthwhile.

It sort of was. But not enough to really make me change my mind about doing it properly on the BBQ or skillet in future.

I tried to make some sous vide bacon & gruyere egg bites (Starbucks does them in the States, they're a top notch breakfast snack) a few weeks ago, that was a proper disaster - I think I cooked them for about an hour, nowhere near ready. Put them in the microwave, didn't do shit. Tipped them out to add cheese on top & grill... splat. Missus put the wrong grill setting on, I honestly think we took about 2hrs to make something that was a rubbery mess. Shambles

A bag of potatoes that you can microwave, a 29c tin of watery tesco beans and something I thought was chicken and garlic. I've thrown out the packet so don't know what it is. It's definitely smokey but apart from that who knows. Lovingly served up on a paper plate that is breaking up and I've cut the table cover.

Whole lot cost about Ä3.70

I think I might kill myself when I'm done.

Judging by the state of the Smokey breadcrumbed thing, you may not have to bother.

Nope. Done my own shopping today. Mr Gein at no.16 sometimes drops in a beef stew to me however.

Doesn't taste like beef though.
