Just sold our car. What do I need to do now?

Sold it privately.

Obviously don't want the person running speed cameras etc. whilst its registered in my girlfriend's name.

What do I need to do now?

I was going to make a smart comment about getting the bus, however, on a serious note

, I'd inform the DVLA and if it's not them they'll be able to point you in the right direction.

There is a part of the vehicle registration document where you fill in the new owners details and send it back.

We couldn't find the log book etc. so he knocked some money off for us not having it.

He will sort it from his side but I want to cover us just in case.

You need to send the change of ownership form off. Make sure you send it registered as well as you are responsible for it.

The c***s fined me £80 because they said I never sent mine. Even when the forms did turn up at their place they wanted the 80 notes off me

it's down to you Don, you have to tell them

you should both have signed Section 8

you do have his name and address don't you?!

they may fine you for losing the Reg Cert

you are responsible for the vehicle until they tell you otherwise (within 4 weeks of notification by receipt of completed Reg Cert
