There were more people at that Real Madrid game than the Barca game in 84.

Insane player, still couldn’t lace Ronaldo’s boots.

Was he the best? He could have done so much more without his dodgy knee.

Personally think ZZ was better but in a different position obviously.
He should have stopped about 4 of their 6 goals in that tie

Ronaldo though - absolutely mental. Crazy excitement waiting to see him at World Cup 98, the World Cup where he was expected to steal the show...

He was so so powerful wasnt he.

Exactly !!!, if ever a player was born with the right name it was George, to see him play was a privilege, I did many times (Old fart alert).

You can have them all, Cruyff, Maradona, Messi, Ronaldo X 2, if they had played under the same conditions George did, shit pitches and getting kicked to f*** every week, they wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes.

Imagine George playing today, with all the science behind the game, the lack of tackling etc etc etc, one word, unplayable.

Every mention of Best brings out the offended… and he was a United player ffs

Incredibly sad that Ronaldos career was cut short. I think we were all dying to see him in wc98. So mobile for such a big fella. Could do the lot.

Met him once (OG Ronnie) in Cannes probs around 2000. Big unit!!!

Incredible, incredible player. Without the knee going, would be right up there stats wise, with Messi/Ron

As much as we can love Best and United, let's have it right, he's not in the same league as either Ronnie.

The two Ronnies

peak Wazza doesn't get enough plaudits IMO. Unplayable in every sense of the word.

I honestly don't think you can really compare different eras all that easily. The game completely changed.

In terms of natural talent Best surely has to be up there or thereabouts with Maradona though. Again slightly different eras but both did things on a pitch you don't really see anymore.

And yeah if we're allowing PED players then Messi obviously

If his knees didnt ruin him, he'd have had been the greatest player of all time.
