If Hag removes maguire from the team long term it will earn him a lot of goodwill regardless of results.

Smalling at Roma is better than Maguire at Man United.
you are kidding. smalling was our best defender. we got hooked on a ball-playing cb... which is how we ended up with the big-headed lunk.

Maguire was our best defender for two seasons. Neither had a high bar to overcome.

Nobody respects him. How can that be our captain and leader?
It can't be a coincidence that we've looked so much more assured without him leading the team. The defence is unquestionably better of without him, too. Neither of those facts, alongside the constant piss-taking memes, will be helping his self-confidence one iota.

Surely it's time for him to be sold with the funds being used to bolster the attack. There's just about enough time to make it happen. Is ETH ruthless enough, though?

I don't think that'll be what's stopping him leaving the club..

He'll be relegated to Europa League group stage and League cup games now. Good. Even if there was a player in there when we signed him, he's gone now and we're not getting him back. Just hope that someone is mental enough to take him off us.

We won’t sell him because we can’t rely on Varane to stay fit. I’ll be surprised if he plays five league games in a row this season.

Given the way Martinez plays, I'd rather have Lindelof alongside him if Varane gets injured.

Regardless, Maguire surely has to be demoted to squad player status now. No way we can think about playing a high line with that milk cart.

Just get him out of the club, absolutely reeks of failure and averageness. Take whatever we can get to remove the stench.

Just give him away, honestly. Paint him out of the clubs history. He's an abysmal failure. 4 relegations. We've got 3 players in the squad with 5 champions leagues yet this bastard is club captain.

As usual, England fans hype up some crap non entity because he went on a few runs out from the back against behemoths like Luxembourg and managed to pass the ball a few times to his teammates. Think we should avoid signing anyone who plays for England for the foreseeable - we used to develop our own English players and they’d show the rest of the national team up in training on the regs. Let’s go back to those days.
