too much hard work and planning there, plus woodward might have to relinquish the power he relishes.

nope, far easier to yo-yo between 4th and 7th for the foreseeable.

From the Glazers perspective it works perfect having Woodward in charge of transfers because his purpose is to bring money into the club (which they can extract or pay the debt off with).

Get a director of football in, he’d still have to secure the funds off Woodward and the Glazers.

They don’t have the money it takes to back the manager to challenge for the title. The risk:reward ratio isn’t even worth it for them to spend as much as Chelsea for the possibility of challenging for a trophy.

Nah, Chelsea’s net spend over the last 2 or 3 years is about £20m atm. Because there’s a plan to their spending. You don’t need a huge budget, just someone with the right vision who knows what they want. We don’t have that in the right position in the club. They’d probably end up spending less. However, the profile of the player United want to be seen to be targeting/signing and the budget they want to pretend they’re working with are at odds with have a DoF deciding who we are after. That’s how I see it anyway.

If a DoF had been told he had £140m to spend this summer, plus whatever he could raise, and his position was measured on the success of his plans and signings, do you reckon he’d have spent the whole summer trying to chuck the vast majority at one player? Not a £#%&!ing chance.

And if you are going to chuck it all at one player get the £#%&!ing deal done. Do you think Woodward ever considered for one second that Dortmund might actually be serious? “But...but...but..didn’t you hear what I said about the covid discount? Should I say it again?” £#%&!ing dope.

The problem is he cannot sell even the squad players because of their vastly over inflated wages and his two “hazard’s” that he could legitimately sell to raise funds in De Gea and Pogba have both been so abject for the last 12 months that they don’t have any suitors. In an ideal world VDB would be Pogba’s replacement netting +£80m for the Sancho transfer. DDG another £60 with Henderson waiting and that cash for a centre half.

We’d be lucky to get 20 for either of them on their last 12 months

Why should we

I think everyone, club and fans alike, need to realise we're not a top side anymore. Not even close. Part of the problem is when Woodward trots out the hyperbole about us being the biggest club in the world because we've got the most Instagram likes or whatever. It's absolutely embarrassing.

Be nice if he could keep his £#%&!ing mouth shut about how much money we've got and how big we are and how we can outspend anyone and just you know, do his job.

People leaving Asda after 10 years service get better treated than that. And stories like that will get around and put players off from getting involved. The top players anyway.

No longer a big club and on top of that no ambition from the board to be a big club either.

This will only go one way. The same cycle repeats where we spend big once in 3 years to get champions league and managers keep getting sacked the following season or two.

Until sponsers stop giving utd money the glazers are here to stay.

Unless the fans do something (likely mass boycotts) yeah. Some are already gullibly swallowing the "its all Ole's fault" line though

They also had all summer to do it and waited until after their season had started.

Yes but they got them. What exactly does that make us? We were 30 odd points behind last season and they've strengthened.

If woody pulls 2 or 3 top class signings out of his fat arse before the end of the window, fine, but it's not exactly looking likely is it.
