Serbian Matic signed for Chelsea from Kovice for £1.5million on a four-year contract in August 2009 but made just three sub appearances.

Part-exchanged in the David Luiz deal, Matic,24, has gone on to become a real lynchpin of Benfica's midfield. Matic will face his old club in the Europa League final next Wednesday.
