But you’d have to explain why. My feeling is that any attempt at an explanation of this “effect” isn’t going to reflect very well on the players involved, especially as these games are their chance to impress.

agreed that it was a game that you know going in they weren't going to come back from being 5-0 down...

but these are guys who have barely played in the past couple weeks so they should have been dying to play and prove to Ole that they belong not only as an option for the remainder of the Europa tournament but also as a reliable member of the squad.

If they're going in with a piss mindset, i'd rather see the academy boys play b/c at least they'll give a damn and put in a 90 minute shift.

Isn't the real point that there is some truth in what you say, but there is also some truth in what I say?

been there 4 years.

spent 100m every season on the defence. Just the £#%&!ing defence.

And that's the figures they're telling people - £#%&! knows what the real numbers are.

Hasn't bought 1 player as good as Aguero, Balloonhead, Fernandinho, Silva or De Bruyne. If he's doing the rebuilding city are £#%&!ed.

I think he'll have a couple of more years and then he'll be off anyway.

This is the longest managerial job he's had.

and their defense is still shite....we gave up one more goal in the league than they did

imagine if they didn't possess as well as they do with the defensive side they have

it's why they tend to crap their pants when they play Liverpool - a team who won't sit there like mongs while they stroke it about

Nothing against Ake but I'd be underwhelmed if we signed him. Maybe he'll turn out to be their Bruce but more likely he'll just get lost in that squad.

we've actually had some good results against them recently b/c we didn't just sit and defend...we actually put them under some pressure and attacked that weak back four with some pace and purpose
