Not the first time that can be said of a United player in the past year. Almost as if, perish the thought, JM might actually have a clue what he's doing?

Exactly my point. No need to get upset. His all round game wasn't considered to be as beneficial as the first choice players. Hence, started less than he was a sub. Missing the point: as with Martial, easier to come off the bench with fresh legs against tired legs after the coaches have pinpointed defensive weaknesses to exploit, as well as the fact that the oppo have opened up, leaving gaps whilst looking for a goal. This leads some simpletons to think that Rashford should be benched in place of Martial.

Yep, did well on the right wing after Beckham left but not the point.

Aye, the only people I've seen that disagree with this are the cranks that hate José. He's only ever going to go public with it if everything else has failed. At the end of the day it's only being done to get the best out of the players. Love this squad tbh, proper good vibes about the place. José is a £#%&!ing master, THE ONLY man comparable to Fergie in the game atm.

scored almost 100 goals as a starter and about 30 as a sub. he was first choice loads of times. you're not making a point.

In what way was it genuine? Did you cry? Or did your bottom lip wobble a bit?

Many shades of upset.

Agree.....Mata has a big influence in defence as well as attack. He has a much more complicated role than just an attacking link man. Rashford has to step down for me an practice his one-on-one`s until he can give a better end product in front of goal. He is only 19 so it`s still a learning curve for him IMO

the most dangerous player on the pitch on the first 2 games needs to come out, the most anonymous must stay.

No argument with Lingard coming on but puzzled why Martial didn't come on earlier. Defenders shit themselves especially late on/tired legs etc

Good options though, him and Rashers.

Rashford struggled today but the pace at which he plays at, the amount of hard runs he makes, that wears on defenders. Lingard came on because his main strength is his movement and energy, keeps up that physical pressure on the opposition. Martial is just picking on teams when he comes on, evil stuff

Like to see Martial play through the middle in the league cup, no need for Lukaku in that match.

All Rashford needs is the confidence to make good decisions in those split seconds that matter. Hopefully that comes with experience and if it does he'll tear this league up and spit it out. He has pretty much everything else he needs. Maybe a touch more beef.

Martrial can become a very good player ,i think he is better than Rashford and not much older , both are fast ,Rashford is or will be more powerful/forceful in attack ,whilst Martial has much better touch and trickery with the ball and certainly a better finisher ,all Martial needs is confidence from the manager and at the moment it is in harmony . Utd are looking good in the goalscoring dept ,for the next few yrs just get the ball to them in the danger zone ,of course Lukaku and Ibra will have the star roles at present but the 2 young uns are the jewels.
