So the Russians had a near 40 year old centre back playing the full 120 minutes against the top possession dominating side in world football, before coolly slotting home his penalty in the shootout, and we’re supposed to believe that Vlad’s Boys aren’t pumped up to the eyeballs in PEDs?

Great outcome for United, btw; De Gea will become even more despised in his home country now, considering he should have probably saved at least two of those penalties. Looks like those @#%&!s in Madrid will be after Courtois or Allison this summer, which means we should be able to tie the magnificent bastard down to a new long-term contract.

Anything that motivates both teams to try and win over the 90 minutes. It has to be something where a team knows they have to score from open play at some point in order to go through. The must win games in the group were far better, because there was no prospect of winning on penalties so both teams had to go for it.

I’d have something like extra time of 20 mins with first goal wins. If no goal, both teams have to take 4 players off. Then both teams remove a player every 5 mins after that until it’s two a side. Play until someone scores. Or start the extra time by taking 4 players off and do the five minute thing straight away. You can allow rolling subs if fatigue is an issue.

Utterly delighted for the Russians.

Probably in my top 10 nations.

What a World Cup.

Wouldn’t expect anything else tbh, Sparkles. The lad’s home is a shrine to all that is communist. Lenin, Scargill, Karl Marx aots, Partridge style.

Too kind, Dodgerers. The threat of a spell in the salt mines hanging over their heads might bring their motivation into focus. A step forward, nqat, though.

£#%&!ing fannies.

Scargill was a delusional megalomaniac with a shit wig. Karl Marx wasn't Russian, and Putin isn't a Marxist.

Nice try, though.

Reckon it’ll be Courtois, his kids live in Madrid so won’t be surprised if he ends up their sooner rather than later.
