All you need to know is he is, by FAR, the best footballer in Portugal. And there are some really very, very good footballers in Portugal.

Given how Utd play, I'm only amazed this deal wasn't tied up in the Summer. Lingard/Mata or.....the best, most in form No 10 in Europe?

Portugal know how to produce midfielders.

Exactly what I asked yesterday. Makes me wonder if we are shipping a certain Frenchman out this window.

Amazed? Are you new to how shambolically this club is run?

I just thought as he was a really obvious target, right profile, right position that Utd didn't sign him in the summer meant that they didn't fancy him for some reason. Just seems weird that absolutely no situation has changed regarding Fernandes or Utd but we're now in a different month. Maybe wanted to see if Lingard could nail the position down?

Hope you get him. The idea of Grealish playing for Utd genuinely sickens me.

It’s very possible Ole was thinking Lingard could prosper and save the club 60m. Think that experiment is over. Hopefully the penny has dropped for Ole and he now realises that Bruno’s 50 or whatever goals and assists in 2019 are a little better than Lingard’s solitary Europa goal.

Think it’s pretty obvious we were only signing Fernandes in the summer if Pogba left. As it is, he may as well have. Doubt Fernandes would have ben first choice replacement though, but likely only one gettable now.

I signed him on Football Manager, played him in the number 10 role and he is mustard.

That's all I need.

Will be a superb signing.

Unfortunately it’s united being united. Disorganised, clueless and generally looking like they don’t know what they’re doing. As usual they wanted to invest the bare minimum last summer (as they did in 2018) whilst shedding half the squad. Shock horror, it hasn’t worked and we find the squad stretched to its limits.

Wouldn’t be at all surprised if we’re purposely dragging this out just so we can make a statement on deadline day and get all this social media likes.
