Yep, we could really do with one of the greatest defenders of his generation right now.

What a player, absolutely blindingly obvious he was worth dropping a World Record fee on.

Imagine how much he’d be worth today

200m?

Wasn’t the story that Woodward told him after the last game of the 2014 season while still in the changing room he’d be released that summer?

With fees like that, you can only tell if they're worth it when the player leaves. Rio's was absolutely worth it.

Nah, he'd been brilliant for Leeds and he was incredible during the World Cup that summer, in the Argentina game it felt like he had a magnet for the ball about his person, he was everywhere. An absolute colossus. Never any question about how good he was and would be imo. One of the few.

That performance in 07 at Anfield.

Not just a great defender on his own but a great organiser too.

He is the most naturally gifted defender in the Europe, and he was outstanding yesterday.

How do we know Henry was his man, by the way? It looked to me from the replay that Rio was covering Adebayor and it was Vidic who was marking open space at the front post when there was already a defender (Heinze I think) there.

If you think Ferdinand is in any way a weak link you're off your head.
Siders right again. He normally is in the long run
