Default Ruben Neves - Ideal Summer Signing?

Would play the midfield role vacated by Carrick perfectly imho. Would also provide much more of a threat going foward than Matic or Herrera.

£100m..

Gets booked every game, or seems to

Pep wants him so he can teach him the art of the snide foul.

Yeah would be delighted with him here.

Neves, Tierney, De Ligt, Sancho

Yep, would be a top signing. Good age, seems to have a strong mentality, and now has experience in the Premier League.

Exactly the type of ball-playing, continuity passing midfielder we need as an upgrade on Herrera if Fred fails to make it.

Would be great to have a proper set-piece specialist in the squad, too. When’s the last time we had one?

Young? Mata? Memphis? Alexis?

We seem to have a knack of coaching any decent deadball delivery out of players in recent years.

Think Siders was championing Neves about 3 years ago..

Yeah, obvious talent at Porto.

Always hard to say whether someone is good enough for the top level, but I'd always take a punt on the Portuguese. Excellent attitudes and adapt so quickly. Still a shame that we weren't up on Bernardo before City got in there. Exactly the type we need atm.

Well we only had a Portuguese manager with the same agent as said players, can’t possibly have expected him to know about them tbf.

Juventus are expressing serious interest in him.

Works his nuts off in every game, old head on young shoulders, screamer of a shot, passing range is ridiculous. As you say, if you're looking for a Carrick replacement that will be a top player for the next 10 years+, Neves is a no-brainer.

Yes, still it must be great for yourself having players like that when you compare to what you had last time you came up.

Great win today by the way, I did chortle.

His agent is Mendes who won't deal with Woody after the Degea fax.

He’s the type of player who would make he step up and is exactly the type of player we should be going for.

No doubt City will be all over him in the summer while Woodward spends 3 months trying to sign Ronaldinho from 2006.

Him, De Ligt and Sancho would be a good window. Would also be £300m

Sell Sanchez and his wages pay for all of them.

Yep.

Neves, Rabiot, Tierney, CB?

Promote Tuanzabe, Tofu, Cong

Sell Darmian, Jones, Rojo, Mata, Sanchez

Summer 2020
Go big for Sancho, Wan Bissaka, CM

Promote Gomes, Greenwood maybe?

Sell any one that’s shit.

Makings of a potentially good squad there.
