Default Real Sociedad vs Manchester United : Official Europa League Matchday Thread 03/11/2022 @ 5.45pm

[SIZE="5"]Team News:

Quote:
Erik ten Hag is hoping to have a number of options for the tie and could be boosted by the possible availability of Anthony Martial, after the striker returned to team training this week.

Victor Lindelof was ill at the weekend, while winger Antony was missing with a knock, but Ten Hag hopes both can be on the flight to Spain.

"I think they will recover but I can't tell you any more," said the boss on Sunday. "We have to see what develops in the coming days and how they progress but I hope, when we go to Spain, everyone is on board. We need them all. There are still four games to go in a short period. You see it's tough for all teams, but also for us, we need 11 players and we need the squad to cover everything."

[SIZE="4"]Man United:

Out: Varane

Doubts: Martial, AWB

[SIZE="4"]Sociedad:

Out: Takefusa Kubo

Doubts: Alex Sola, David Silva, Ander Barrenetxea, Momo Cho, Aihen Munoz, Mikel Oyarzabal, Umar Sadiq.

The 2nd team in the group will have play an extra ko round with a 3rd place team coming from the Champions League. Can be Ajax, Bacelona or Juventus. The 1st place teams goes straight into the round of 16.

If it’s us then bring it on.

Tenners will have us up for who ever it is.

Given what's available i'd go with this:

De Gea

Dalot Lindelof Martinez Shaw

Casemiro Eriksen
De Beek

Fernandes Ronaldo Rashford

Either that or rest the first team for Sunday and put out a joke 11.

Tough choice for our bald overlord.

I think MU will be trying to win the match by 2 goals. But it will be difficult. Probably MU may win 0 - 1.

I don’t like the 5.45pm kick offs.

Hoping Martial is available just for another option up top. Would also like to see us keep the ball a bit better than we did in the second half against West Ham.

If we get an early goal we’ll win by 3 or 4. I feel like the lack of goals is a mental thing, and not because we’re just bad in attack, as we’re quite clearly making a lot more chances these days. An early goal to settle the nerves = a comfortable win.
