Football WORLD CUP 2018 - Round of 16 - Belgium v Japan - 2nd July, 19:00 - Live on BBC

Quote:
Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has declared Romelu Lukaku "fully fit" after an ankle injury ruled the striker out of the win over England.

Thomas Vermaelen and Vincent Kompany are vying to take Dedryck Boyata's place at centre-back.

Japan captain Makoto Hasebe is set to return in midfield, while winger Takashi Inui and centre-forward Yuya Osako may also earn recalls.

Striker Shinji Okazaki is a doubt with an ankle injury.

One of the few last 16 ties that looks obvious. On paper.

Hope Belgium win by at least 3. Japanese disgusted me vs Poland.

This will probably be the most one-sided of all the last 16 games

Can't wait to see how 6ft 4in Lukaku does against the notorious tall and physical Japanese defence.

It took the white heat of atomic power to stop these fellas last time.

Can Belgium do the job without resorting to atomic fission?

Serious question, and I know I’m setting myself up for some replies over the next hour or so, but do people seriously consider de Bruyne a world class player?

Very good player, surely got to influence the bigger games more(cl latter stages, euros and wc) to be considered world class.

Disappeared against the scouse, can see him doing nothing v Brazil in the quarters. If Belgium are to win they need him on it.
