not really a comparable situation is it.

we can't shift them because they're shit. And it's one of the reasons why it's getting on for a decade since we won the league. We signed poor players and then rewarded their poor performances with new contracts on wages that no other club in their right mind would pay.

That's a part of it but we can't even sell players on more reasonable wages. All our top 4 rivals are able to shift a decent amount of deadwood for good money, it goes beyond wages.

True, but I was mainly jabbing at how long it takes United to do anything in the transfer market.

yeah but chelsea have players that have gone on loan, have played a handful of games for them so their stock hasn't really dropped.

we can't shift the dead wood because they are exactly that, dead wood. They've been so poor for so long that nobody wants to take a punt on them. If we had a zouma or a tammy abraham at the club we'd get similar money. If Greenwood was at chelsea they'd have sold him for 40 million by now.

PSG said no

Funniest thing in this is Liverpool fans thinking he's going there

How much did they pay for him? Transfer fees looked a bit more normal for a couple of weeks until City spent £100m on Jack Grealish

Insane. There’s no way Mbappe is worth more than twice what we got Sancho for.

€160m pal not £160m equates to £137m or thereabouts apparently.

Still bonkers to turn it down if he is free next year

Liverpool have shifted all sorted of reserves and fringe players for figures we could only dream of. We can’t even sell players when there is a willing buyer.

Took us an entire summer to sell Smalling to Roma, after he'd spent a season there and they were desperate to buy him and we ended up getting what they'd originally offered in May/June IIRC , which was peanuts.

Mbappe and Pogba to Real Madrid next season on a 'free'.

Wouldn't be surprised in the next few years to see short 2 years contracts becoming the norm for players under the management of @#%&!y shitbag agents, top players moving around the top clubs in Europe for no transfer fee, with both player and agents getting bumper pay days with each move.

It all fits together. The reason we fail on the football pitch is because we fail off it.

That Phil Jones still has a few years left on a contract when hes barely played is a disgrace. Forget about him refusing to give up the number 4 shirt. Hes stealing a squad place from us and big wages.

New big contract for Rojo when he'd been mostly injured etc

God knows what Lingard is on for us not being able to sell him quick. Must be on a wild contract. Can't blame him for not wanting to take a paycut.

It's just another flex for them. They are more than happy to reject all bids and let him leave in a year for free, just to demonstrate how insignificant 150 million is to them. The only thing that is likely to make them entertain a bid would be FFP book balancing, and now they own UEFA that's hardly going to matter. Mbappe throwing tantrums may swing it but they may just laugh at him and leave him crying for a season.
