Even if we are the world's most supported club, most players will not be United fans.

Which means we need something other than our name to attract them.

Pity we pay such shit wages then, in such a small shit stadium in front of one man and his dog. And obviously offer zero chance of ever winning anything ever again. I’m astounded how smaller clubs, with smaller stadiums, crowds and less prestige ever manage to sign players. Poor lickle united. We’re not exactly Preston North End. We’re not even Liverpool.

Why would it be a bad thing if we did only target players who are attracted by the name and actually prefer us for reasons other than the highest wage on offer?

To be honest, I don't mind missing out on this one. He's good but we should look to swap lu#@&%!u for piatek in milan or milik in napoli.

Real Madrid, a team that has only really hit a 'crisis' of sorts this year alone, are getting their shit sorted out quickly and efficiently. Meanwhile, we've been in full on meltdown mode for several years now and we will no doubt end up spending a stupid amount of money on deadline day on a player that will solve none of our problems, having spent the entire summer leaving Neymar voice messages asking if he wants to play in football's Disneyland.

It helps that no matter how much of a crisis they're in, they can guarantee finishing in a champions league position in their joke of a league. It makes rebuilding much easier.

Really £#%&!s me off how other big clubs seem to get players in with out much fuss and we’ve got to go through the whole ‘preparing a bid’ %@#$&!s.

Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world. It has nothing to do with them finishing 'top 4' or whatever. They have 13 European Cups and a CV of the world's greatest players who've all played for them. Most players want to be a part of that history and the vast majority of the time when they want a player, they get him.

They've got exactly the same amount of points this season as United. Watch how differently the two clubs go about fixing the issues.

That's the difference between the club that tells everyone they're the biggest - and the club that actually is the biggest.

Madrid have confirmed his signing, £52.4m.

Puts the £60m rumoured for Maddison in it's place.
