Negative goal difference, bumbling around 8th. Lost 4 of the opening 12 games

Doesn't matter who the owners are - we should be doing better than that
Yes, can't just hide behind City this year.

All the criticism that we had last year about the style of play, lack of direction or real on field patterns, they were mostly hand-waved away with "impossible to challenge City", as if their excellence excused our mediocrity.

City don't, or at least shouldn't, factor in to this argument.

They are miles ahead of us and it will take a few years for us to catch up assuming the necessary major changes are made...starting with the owners and working downwards to the playing staff.

The JM supporters need to be asking themselves what it is that they think will happen even if he does become successful.

Yes, we might win a few more trophies but the football will continue to be a diabolical stain on a rapidly fading ethos and reputation that the club has been built on.

If we're going to have mediocre results then i'd much rather it be in the fashion of Newcastle in the 90s where nearly every game was end to end.

As it is we're just drifting in to a nothing state and in fact the media have already started to comment on us like we're a meaningless club with nothing much to contribute to the game except a bit of off-field drama.

Other than that I think things are going swimmingly well.

Though our poor start was partly because the club refused to let our manager buy the players he wanted.

Not really, it meant that Mou was sulking for the first part of the season - only pulling his finger out somewhat when it really did look like he might get the sack.

I'm not defending him, not on this anyway, just saying that most things ultimately go back to the godawful way this club is run.

Spurs bought literally nobody and yet are seven points ahead of us. They've also got a raft of injuries so they're playing some 20 year old argie kid called Juan Foyth at centre back because Vertonghen and davidson sanchez are injured. He scored the winner at palace for them on Saturday. He cost £8m quid.

In fact, Spurs entire back 4 at the weekend cost less than Luke Shaw.

Spurs aren't rotten from the top down in the same way that we are.

True but they're far more skint than we are, have had far less investment yet here they are yet again out-performing us.

The very next line of that post said it wasn't "alright", but whatever
