The club are penny pinching to the point where players can’t use the swimming facilities for rehab etc out of hours because the club wouldn’t pay for a full time lifeguard to be on duty

Obviously Castles is Jose’s main man, so it’s likely exaggerated.
I can actually believe all of that.

They always do that when they know their target is mortally wounded. Did it to Louis - who whatever you think of his stint at the club is a giant of the game.

Jackals.

Journalists are mostly terrible people, to some extent that has always been true but I'm sure things never used to be as bad as they are now.

God’s always looked after Jose. Maybe he’ll show up at the 11th hour.

Indeed. Can also recall reports early on how they banned free toast for non playing staff at breakfast. 40 million spent on refinancing no problem, free toast for staff, problem. Morale around the club was supposed to have been shit for years because of such things. Probably still is.

Wasn’t there a change against Tottenham? Looks like he’s pressing ahead with the planned more attacking approach dispite not getting the defenders he thought he needed before doing so. His only mistake was not dropping Pogba, but he probably isn’t allowed.

The real point is, you can easily imagine utterly petty stuff like that being true with the "great owners" we are blessed with.

I do believe a certain A C Ferguson used that very verbatim phrase on at least one occasion. But he's not important, obviously.
