Incidentally, what did 'shrinking violet' Berbatov do the other week vs Aldershot when Pogba/Morrison were sniffing about wanting to take a free-kick?
I'd just like him to grow a pair & fight for his United career.
The Freekick issue is just part of the bigger picture imo

I don't hate him I just don't rate him (omg! that rhymes!!)

He is fighting for it, though all indications suggest that career is dead in the water. His conduct despite being overlooked much of the time remains impeccable - hardly indicative of a man lacking 'balls'.

I agree with this in wider terms, MJ. He does and I reckon there have been signs of that recently. Against Aldershot (Only Aldershot etc etc), he played with a good energy and enthusiasm. He gets called lazy. I don't think he's lazy. Lazy means a total lack of effort, it's not for the lack of trying, but sometimes he lacks urgency in certain key moments. Urgency and conviction in what he's doing. There's always the feeling that he can do so much more and, given the time he's been here, he should. However, he's also now in a position where he's playing very irregularly, either by himself or with a strange mish-mash of players behind him. So for him to come in and score what turned out to be a pretty important goal, I think he did ok. All things considered.

As for the set pieces, I think it's totally unrelated.

No, you're not Scar! ...and nobody is questioning your overall criticism of him, just that there's no connection with your overall view of him and him not taking a free kick when other set piece specialists are on the pitch. And it's not a fact that he wouldn't have taken a penalty. It's an opinion. And it also wouldn't have meant anything had he not.

I'm hardly going off like Scar & calling him every name under the sun

There is an issue with his lack of confidence & lack of self belief. It's hardly an outlandish opinion.
If we had been awarded a Pen last night (as if) he wouldn't have wanted it. fact.
Playing amateur psychologist with Berbs is ridiculous - he's as cool as a £#%&!ing cucumber, still.

'Mental fragility', 'lack of confidence', 'belief' = where the £#%&! are you getting this from?

I lost that a long time ago tbh

...Forget my psycho-analysing %@#$&!s & get to the route of my argument.
Would Fergie have left Rooney, Hughesie, Eric, Coley, Ole, Ruud etc.. out of a EUROPEAN CUP FINAL SQUAD???
Of course not. Not in a gazillion light years.

Berbatov doesn't have the right charector to be a United player. He doesn't have that swagger or win at all costs fire in his belly.

Why is it OK to slag off our midfielders all day every day but not Berb's btw??

Mate, it was the free kicks thing you were pulled up on. Nobody argued against your overall point re Berbatov.

MJ, it's over. We've got the place surrounded. Put down the Berbatov Free Kicks argument and kick it over here.

Berbs hasn't worked and it'd better for both parties if he went, that much is obvious.

He's still a dreamboat though.

So gutted it didn't work out. The player I most wanted to be a big star with us that turned out not to be. More than Veron.
