You didn't predict it though ric. You were saying we should have kept him on.

He's also, inadvertently or otherwise, admitting that he can't manage modern players. Doesn't have the temperament.

Hope he wins the Champions League if we somehow don't.

That is probably a reasonable comment.

that quote reminds me of the line in the thick of it, "I suppose there had to be someone that didn't get on with Simon Mayo"

Happy to trouser 15 million a season as a manager, not so happy to do the part of his job that involves managing.

Some truth in what he's saying. With figures above the manager it's easier to create that discipline as they can deal with issues rather than the manager always having to do it. And it is less easier for players to isolate the manager.

But fact remains we are in an era where most modern managers don't have so many issues with their players. As Scholes suggests, when you end up failing to man manage guys like Valencia something is seriously wrong. Mou seems to pick all the fights he ends up in.

Yep. As ever the truth likely to be somewhere in between. He's a test and picks far too many fights and creates tons of shit that is of his own making.

That said, if United don't heed what he's saying those issues with players are going to keep on happening for managers in the future.
