Borussia Dortmund have started talks for Lille and France attacking midfielder Jonathan Ikone, 22, as they look at replacing 20-year-old England winger Jadon Sancho, who has been linked with Manchester United.
Probably worth having a look at this fella?

Let’s get it done. Or not. Just stop the messing around. Look at how Chelsea handled their business.

I want Sancho but that kind of money in this market isn’t likely. Plus it will have a huge impact on other signing we could makeS As good as I hear he is, 120m can probably be spent better.

Still don't get why we should be baulking at the size of the fee. No matter who we go for, clubs will look at the size of our balance sheet and inflate the selling price. How much would a Sterling go for? How much would we want for Greenwood if Real came knocking and he wanted out (yes, it would be rightfully more than Sancho). £150 million on two transfers could see us land Sancho and a bloody decent CB: we would then have the backbone of a truly great United side.

Yep.

Investment for best part of decade or more. We are woefully short on quality attacking options and he ticks most of the boxes.

I don't think people realise how £#%&!ing good he is tbh, I've been very impressed every time I've seen him. He's got 17 goals and 16 assists in 25 starts in the league this season. He only turned 20 in March

Sancho, Rashford (22), Greenwood (18) and Martial (24) are very good options to have for years to come.

Get him in.

I find it very annoying that Timo Werner, the 2nd top scorer in the league, goes for £45m and sancho is somehow worth twice that.

Will turn out to be a bargain regardless of what we pay.

Exactly this. It's not just about the individual's worth, here but an investment in the whole team - the club - which would set us up for years. We can then add another few AAA players into the mix over the next couple of seasons and project Ole will be complete.

Our very own fab four - 3 of which are English - should piss the Scousers off for years to come

Never really seen him but got a bad feeling about him. Don’t care too much about German stats, Myichateran (sp) won the player of the year before we bought him and was dogshit.

Rather spend the big wedge on a decent midfielder

Not that annoying when you realise Werner had a release clause and that it's not actually you paying the transfer fee.

I see it as a badge of honour, TBF. We're a much bigger club than Chelsea and selling teams know that.

We're the only big club in the world that gets continuously shafted on transfers. It's embarrassing and boring now.

Anything north of £70m in this market is a piss take. Even with the England and United tax.

Why do people keep saying “in this market” when we don’t actually have a clue what the market is like yet?
