They’re trying desperately to flog Pjanic, Auba, Umtiti, FDJ, Memphis and Dest and seem to be struggling horribly.
Do get the impression De Jong is going to dig his heels right the £#%&! in and stay there tbh. Would be extremely interesting to see what happens if they fail to shift any of them The problem they’ve got is they’re all on great contracts with promised pay rises, and would all want huge payoffs to go, buying clubs aren’t going to compensate and the players aren’t going to ask to leave or accept moving with no payoff |

At this stage I rather watch Barcelona crash and burn. Sign another midfielder, £#%&! de jong, if he really wanted to come he would just sign. You’re a footballer you greedy £#%&!er anyone earning over 300k practically has an unlimited account.
His own stupid fault for doing it all and not making sure Barcelona can be held accountable from a legal stand point |

Tbh I agree with what you’re saying, but I like to think if the situation was “normal” it would be legally binding . Now clearly he’s #@&%!ed up with his contract as Barcelona may have a loop hole ( if he leaves early etc ) or the deadline for them paying is at the end of his current contract. Either way, any deferred payments, I.e money he is owed should have been water tight from his lawyers and agents. The fact the Barcelona are even able to do this is an indictment on his agent and their lawyers and whoever else deals with the legal side of his contract Now in an ordinary working environment, they would have been bound by law to pay up,(unless obvious contract stipulations) . If that’s the case I’d like to think you wouldn’t accept the deferred payments because it’s not in your best interest As much as Barcelona are being the #@&%!heads here, he also has to take some of the blame. (Or his agent and financial team) |

Nobody in their right mind would accept a deal on their contract, without looking over it , or In this case getting some lawyers to do so as it’s more specialised, in a way where the club has control over when and if they pay his wages that have been backlogged. There should have been somewhere in his contract about the backlogged wages if he were to leave he should still be paid as they were wages for when he was at the club. It’s pretty clear that there’s something about him leaving the club and then Barcelona not being obliged to pay him the wages he is owed |

You already said in countless posts that ETH wants him and wouldn’t go after him if there wasn’t some conversation. That should sort out the idea that FDJ wants to leave. Well if he wants to leave and Barcelona want to sell, then it has to be the hold up. If the wages are clearly the hold up, then clearly Barcelona have some ground and aren’t legally obliged to pay right away, otherwise it would just happen. The fact that Barcelona can stand their ground implies they aren’t legally bound to pay his wages he has deferred if he were to leave |

What if wages aren’t the hold up and he’s just a good player among dozens that played under ETH, who ETH has asked the club to pursue but doesn’t want to come? Need not be all that complicated in terms of ‘promises’ to ETH who we haven’t heard of actually going out to meet him, these mad cap theories that being transferred out legally dissolves any right to contractual salary etc

Barca have no intention of paying the £17m, that's why they want rid, to avoid the pay rises promised.
If he'd have said 'no' to ETH we'd have moved on and done something else. I reckon he'll end up staying there tbh and they'll pull another 4 levers or whatever they dream up to get the required wage allowance to register them all. It's the only way FDJ get's what's owed to him. |

If Barca wanted him off the books so much, he wants to leave so much & Utd are already offering excess of 50 mil for what is essentially a financial liability to Barca (on account of the wages) then a compromise would be reached and a deal done. Not got an abacus but clearly something doesn’t add up.
