Shame that. Can't believe he's not been given any sort of chance, but was always a bit lightweight.

Your point is proven? How? One player who has improved out of sight in the last 18 months but before that looked like he had no chance, has been sold whilst only having 6 months left on his deal.

Hardly proof that all the young players at OT aren't good enough, will be sold and never given a chance, as you seem to intimating.

I suspect it'll turn out that he wasn't that good.

You intimate that with most other young players at the club. You may think Eikrem is a fantastic player, still not sure how it proves your point though.

my point is that not many (if any) of these fantastic reserve team players make it into the first team. whether they are good enough or not remains to be seen as we never seem to find out. it's been a cycle for almost twenty years now (10 on forums). New player emerges, months of speculation whether or not he'll get his chance in the first team, moves on to pastures new (usually mid table mediocrity or lower (molde)), months of it turrns out he wasn't good enough anyway, (player scores for birmingham agaist sunderland after 20 starts with said club), days of "i knew he'd be great" repeat ad nauseum.
