Default Live audio-visual rights in the UK for 2013/14 to 2015/16 are revealed by Premier League

The Premier League has concluded the sales process for the seven packages of live audio-visual rights for transmission in the UK during seasons 2013/14 to 2015/16.

The seven packages – five of 26 matches and two of 12 matches – totalling 154 matches were awarded on the following basis:

- BSkyB has secured packages B, C, D, E and F totalling 116 matches.

- BT has secured packages A and G totalling 38 matches.

The overall value delivered for the seven packages following the structured and independently scrutinised sales process is £3.018 billion.

Fair enough. Hope the @#%&!s don't charge a la ESPN but you'd have to think it'll be £10 a month or something as well.

Hopefully by then everyone will have a £#%&!ing fast internet connection & it can all be streamed.

BT already show sky sports 1 and 2 for £16 per month, so yeah you'd expect sky to lob on a tenner or so.

That's a @#%&!. We get ESPN for free. I'll be £#%&!ed if I'm paying for BT's new channel.

Strange one that. Expected ESPN to be challenging Sky for a few more packages, not losing the one they had. They're owned by Disney and therefore £#%&!ing wodded.

This. Though Apple are clearly hesitating about iTV. The internet is a universal distribution platform, TV is strictly licensed by territory- something has to give.

Fair £#%&!s to BT for giving it a go.

Are Virgin allowed to bid for these matches or do they not cover a large enough percentage of homes?

one provider should have them all. Those claiming a monopoly presume each game is an individual product, when that's not really the case. Unlike changing from BA to easyjet for a cheaper deal, we can't swap United v City for Fulham v Norwich. By forcing the pl to split the package to offer customers a better choice, they just leave us in the position of having to pay extra.

So ESPN have the saturday lunchtime games. Do they have another time slot? At least the overall number of games has gone up.

I guess all the Al Jazeera stuff was all talk then, did they even bid?

In the footure with internet tv you'll just buy a season ticket for your team and watch it on the Premier League channel (brought to you by Irrelevant Ltd.) Cuts out the middle man and makes them a lot more monies.

Fingers crossed it'll be the death of Sky.

Love it how people actually think the wealth of the companies involved is in any way relevant. All they do is pass the cost + extra on to the willing dicks who subscribe. I've said it endless times but anyone who subscribes to such shite is guilty of £#%&!ing football in the arse and yet they will be the ones complaining about how players are overpaid etc.
