See I don't believe this. He's undoubtedly moved with the times, but just hasn't bought into this new gen thing of running up and down the line like a @#%&! of which the optics spins the narrative that these managers must be tactical wizards.

Certain managers can exude an aura of respect just by who they are. He can raise a team 10-15% just because of who he is. Brilliant man manager.

Love his calmness, no running up and down touchline like klopp arteta pep. No hopping or waving arms in a 60k stadium trying to micromanage every pass.

His secret?

He has really really good players.

Apart from at Everton.

Ancelloti is truly incredible. He’s married to no specific tactics. He can put his ego completely to the side to play whatever way the match requires.

He just got world class players to change their nature and defend like a Sam Allardyce squad for 120 minutes. It was ugly but that’s what it took to survive and advance. His players 100% believe him.

It's time to bring Don Carlo home.
