Bloody love Herrererera.

Exactly what we needed. Surprised it took LvG so long to see it but hopefully he's got the message now.

If you look at LvG's own comments he admitted the Spurs game was the first time we saw his actual preferred setup. So you can't just explain away the last 6 months siders. He wasted 6 months. We could have won this shitty league.

Van Gaals tactics, formations and man-management between August 2014 and March 2015 is the only thing i'd describe as "£#%&!ery". Playing rooney in midfield is something i'd describe as "£#%&!ery". Benching herrera for several long spells is something i'd describe as "£#%&!ery". Same goes for mata, whose first start in two months coincided with that performance v Spurs and of course yesterdays proper £#%&!ery.

The criticism of van Gaal was valid. You'd all have a better case if we had succeeded with whatever nonsense he was trying before the Spurs game.
Saffers, I know you're taking a bit of stick here, but being serious for one sec, you can't just say something along the lines of 'now he's doing what I wanted all along' so all bets are off. He was doing what he needed to do, what he said early doors he had to do, which was experiment. Experiment with players, experiment with formations and experiment with tactics.

Binning 8 players right off the bat and £#%&!ing around with three at the back in response to the holocaust at Leicester, all the injuries. If anything it's admirable he found a way to keep churning points. Just because some were calling for Rooney up front, others for Herrera's inclusion, how many hands on heart, thought our best line up would be a 4-3-3 that didn't include Van Persie, Falcao, Di Maria and Rojo, but DID include Fellaini, Valencia, Young, Smalling, Jones, Mata and Blind at left back? Not many I expect. This is why he didn't want to put a time frame on it when pressed.

Criticism, disappointment, confusion are one thing, we are fans and this is what we do, but sacking another manager because he hadn't gotten it right after two thirds of a season would have been a £#%&! up of epic proportions.

That's right 99ers - Herrera himself has just come out and said he was chasing the ball like a schoolboy instead of holding position. They've all had to learn the philosophy and it's beginning to show.

"Got" will do btw

Paying £30 million for a player who is then dropped until he does what he is told because the manager has the balls to do it.lvg, ferrie and Maureen are managers that will do this where the likes of moyes would not(e.g mata last season shoehorned in but had to play because of the money we just spent on him)
Moyes also left an injured RVP on in a match and admitted he feared what the fans would think if he hauled him off:shakehead:

This is what top managers do and herrera is a fine example and will come out a better player for it.

Kind of ironic they've chose him to model it, it'll probably be the only strip he wears this year away in the carling cup...

Not sure where he is going to fit in, sadly.

He is down the pecking order in the CM role and in the attacking role the signing of Pedro would only make him less likely to play imo

In the front 6 im assuming 3 would be certain starters more often than not. Rooney, Depay and Pedro.

Then its 3 from Mata, Carrick, Sch x2, Young, Januzaj, Fellaini and Herrera.

Spain in 2 years.

When we get the required pace on the flanks it'll be Mata who takes the fall imo.

Midfield should be a choice of Schneiderlin holding with Herrera and Schweinsteiger in front. Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin rotating with Carrick when needed. I can't see any problems for the lad, it's going to be a long season

Should be one of the first on the teamsheet tbh. Can tackle, pass, shoot, and is mobile enough to get up and down. Love Ander. Criminal if we don't use him enough.
