Fair enough, we're spoiled for choice in the midfield department

Would have been nice to at least give him a chance to see if he can raise his game, especially with McFred stinking up the league for 4 years.

Alarm bells with this one. Was convinced he'd be getting a shot.

Chelsea and City seem to be doing quite a few deals whereby they sell a player with a buyback of around double what they've sold them for.

If we get £14m for Garner with a £28m buyback, it wouldn't be so bad IMO.

He seems a tidy player, but I just can’t see him making it.

Especially if we sell him.

But he was going to be our midfield saviour according to some on here?

Baffled.

Better to have a strategy that he either plays or we move him on rather than him Jonesing up the place.

Not a bad fee.

Realistically how much would we get for The Scottish Player?

seems harsh, although he has yet to demostrate the cojones to play. but, under the circumstances, also seems rash. mcfred are shit, but what if one of them got injured (making a tackle, maybe)? as if £14mio makes any £#%&!ing difference.

Can’t get rid off the shit @#%&!s because of their ridiculous wages that no team want to match and give up a transfer fee

So we have to sell kids that would be useful on the bench (in place of shit @#%&!s) to fund transfers.

If we’ve no intention of playing him, then sell him. Get some good money and stick a buy back clause in there. I would like him to get a chance, but if it isn’t gonna happen, then better than loaning him out for years on end and then selling him for nothing when he has no value at 25.

And SURELY it means at least one midfielder coming in

Yep my thinking. Poor bastard is surplus to requirements as we're skint.

Shit fee. City sold some academy player for 20m ffs he’s worth at least 30m. Actually forgot the wages we give out, he’s probably on 80k a week

I just don’t think he’s very good tbh

Saw him a few times for Forest last season and he was alright, when he played in pre-season he looked £#%&!ing miles away. Getting a decent fee now looks remarkably sane from United tbh.

Inclined to agree. He looks neat and tidy, but I don’t see a special player there or any indication he’s good enough for us. Half the time, we want these young players to do so well that I think we exaggerate their attributes and influence on loan.

Ultimately, if we’re willing to sell, ETH must have had a look and doesn’t think he’s got it. We’ve got to trust him. Shame, but I’d rather we let him go now while his stock is relatively high than have him turn into another Perrera.

Of the lads in preseason, I think the only two who have any chance of making it are Iqbal and Garnacho. And even that isn’t certain.

Laird, Savage, Garner, Fish, Williams, Hannibal and especially Chong don’t seem like they have enough.
