Its exactly the kind of statement he needed to make. That and taking the captaincy off Maguire should've been his first two actions.

All this talk about a back up keeper: ten hag isn’t daft. He knows de gea isn’t good enough. Neither is Heaton. I think he want a competent keeper, good with his feet, who will eventually be phased in for de gea

Get Sommer in

De gea needs dropping furthermore he should be sold or told his time is up , he has been a great shot stopper over the last few years , but his distribution , mobilty and reluctance to command his area is obvious for all to see , not forgetting some appalling howlers over the past 3-4 years , just before the world cup in 2018 he was on the wane, adios end of

Pragmatically, that is understandable. It is all well and good saying get rid of those two but he has to see what circumstances the club will leave him in for this season as he must of had reservations about their transfer skills.
Also this way he is true to his everyone starts off with a blank sheet speech, he gave them a chance and look what they did with it. this whole season is about cutting out rot and giving him a good foundation in the club, as long as these players are not first team by the end it will have been a good one.

More to do with his 350k wage imo

No club would take that off our hands and there’s no way he’d be allowed to bench a player on such a high wage.

if we have a better option, he should be benched, irrespective of his wages.

show me the better option.

We loaned him to Forest.

No question that de Gea is one of the worst keepers in the league now.

He’s on borrowed time.

There’s only so many players we can ditch at once and there are some established players who were always going to get a chance to keep themselves in their roles:

DDG
MAGUIRE
SHAW
The Scottish Player
RASHFORD

They were always going to get a year of rope to hang themselves, which is what I fully expect most if not all of them to do.

NEW KEEPER
VARANE
MALACIA
CASIMERO/NEW MIDFIELDER
NEW FORWARD

To have replaced them by the end of the season IMO.

Heaton and/or Kovar.

Ronaldo at a push.

2 good games back-to-back and a clean sheet today, both with no Maguire playing in front of him.

Interesting, verrrrrryyyyy interesting.

Definitely making an effort to come out for the ball more often too. You can see he’s terrified when he does it but bless him he’s trying.

Cannot believe we wasted 90 mil on Harry Maguire; imo he’s pound for pound the worst signing we’ve ever made. A disaster of a player, an embarrassment of a man; should never wear the armband again.

thought he was bit more brave and assertive today.

his clearances and passing were marginally better.

notice how varane and Martinez give him an option during goal kicks. its good and refreshing that we are actually working on stuff at carrington not just nicknames and laughing with a visiting saf like the old regime.
