Least Moyes gave us some decent memories.

Ralf’s tenure was the most embarrassing period in our recent history, not sure anyone can dispute that?
Aye, the 2 minutes after Evras goal away to Bayern

We went into the summer window having a midfielder and striker as main target. First game of the season and nothing is signed.

The De Jong stuff is out of our control but you have to question why we do not have another striker right now. Or at least another midfielder in addition to De Jongs arrival.

Ten Hag got forced into changes that completely deviated from the way we have appeared to play in pre season.

Panic signings on the last day of the window, players the manager doesn’t want? The pattern continues..

These are things to be wary of.

We must criticise the club but also be clear that a lot of us have been complaining about panic buys. If we cant get De Jong then we probably are better off playing the youths.

Im sympathetic to that, but the current choices in midfield are killing us.

This is exactly what will happen. Reacting again.

Its the sort of thing nearly all managers say tbf, but it doesn't help when it is so evidently untrue.

As shit as Ralf was at actually coaching he was absolutely right in everything g he said while doing the other role he was brought in to do.

Some say what he said was as obvious, but it wasn’t obvious to the people running United. Home truths is what was needed and many didn’t like it, but ultimately if the board took on board what he said we’ll be better for it.

That's why he was out the £#%&!ing door sharpish. United don't want anyone coming in talking revolution. They want to continue the status quo and keep promoting nodding dogs from within like arnold and murtaugh

Ralf is a DoF. He’s not a coach or manager.

That said, absolutely everything he said and recommended has been so blindingly obvious that everyone on here could’ve done the exact same job he did for a tenner. Probably would’ve got better results too.

McFred have been shit@#%&!ing the place up for 4-5 years now. Ole didn’t fancy Fee for the first 6 months he was here, except when forced to play him by injuries. We’ve had all that time to identify an improvement on them and go and get the player. Just one. £#%&!ing nothing.

Shoulda stayed on as DOF imo.

You would have seen even more bodies sold and more players come in. He has connections.

It’s obvious to us but not to the bean counters running the club imo. He pretty much called out their running of the club and certain people still gave him shit for it.

Maybe. Definitely for this summer ffs. Clearly alienated everyone at the club with his state the obvious ‘spend a shit ton of money’ policy.

Tbf I don’t think ETH wanted him to stay on.

Maybe they’ve got beef from their time in Germany?

(Were they there at the same time or was Ralf managing in Serbia at that point?)

Unfortunately calling out the owners and bean counters isn’t conducive to moving the club forward.

ETH is now where ole was for 2 and half seasons.

Would've been interesting to see what Ralf might've uncovered in the transfer market given how tentative Erik is about working with players he hasn't met before, but we had to back the manager at the end of the day. His first directive seemed to be binning Ralf, so I don't think it could've ever worked.

Might be worth having a look in the dossier if it's lying around anywhere? I know ETH binned his copy, but you'd hope they had it backed up somewhere.

Disagree pal.

Pressure has to be put on the poor running of the club and it’s not like he went about it like Mou. He said what we’ve all been saying for years and was in a position to help change the mentality of the club.

I do think ETH was unwilling to work with the guy though, just hope the people above him now are pulling in the same direction.

we finished 6th by the skin on our teeth and lost two first team midfielders and 2 strikers while being light in those departments anyway quality wise

we needed to play catch up and have ended up being weaker than the end of the season.

Regardless of Ronaldo situation we should be relying on a 37 year old striker anyway.

Erik is on a 3 year contract, he left a team of champions in his native country for us and they havent backed him. He should call them out as its his neck for the chop. They cant sack him yet but he must see for himself now that the team and squad is a mid table outfit.

Would you say those tactics have been successful in any way? Has anything changed or improved? Or did it simply create turmoil for the team/club and cause those individuals to get the sack?
