You know what I mean, you're putting an almost raw tomato into your mouth.....

I'd struggle like hell ...

Yeah, but it’s mixed with other things. That’s the point

You’re gonna do the same with halloumi

Only time I eat pure tomato is when I roast them in the oven. Just tremendous.

Tomato is up there with onion as the best addition to any ingredients. They elevate. Take both out and so many meals are ruined.

Was always in the can only eat them in a sauce camp, I probably still am, but I did recently try some San Marzano tomatoes (tinned) and they were incredible.

God tier ingredient. Just not in a burger.

Pasta sauces, ragú, roasted with a full English, pizza base, Panzanella Salsa ffs! Essential part of a BLT

f*** I want a BLT for lunch now. & by Christ I'll have one.

The big watery ones can go f***, always remove them from any burger or sandwich but on the vine little cherry or plum tomatoes I have most days, sweet and succulent little blighters. Chuck them on any fresh pasta dish cut in half as you serve for bullets of flavour.

This - tomatoes cold over here are grim, unless cooked in a sauce.

Was in Spain recently & had a bocadillo - Iberican ham, cheese & tomatoes. Holy sh!t, the tomatoes were on another level. They were added cold, but had so much flavour

Dear lord I am stuffed

Needed to use up some bacon so I just slung the lot in, 8 rashers of smoked Sainsbury's finest - I await the bacon police.

Doubled down with the Frazzles as why the f*** not, eh?

Tomatoes were a bit bland in all honesty, really hoping the plant yields something as shop bought are just crap compared to fresh here.

Agreed, if you've not grown them yourself organically you should be ashamed of yourself.

Fell in love with halloumi on my first detachment with the RAF to Cyprus in 1990. It was such an experience tasting foreign food cooked well; Meze's washed down with brandy sours.

Anyway, tomatoes...sweet, juicy ones are magnificent...bland, water-filled supermarket monstrosities are just a disgrace.
