Default Best sauce to have on chips

Truffle mayo for me. Amsterdam street-food style. A revelation in the X household. Sublime.

Edit: forgot to tick the little box next to add poll

Generally, just salt and vinegar if they are decent chips.

Occasionally salad cream.

Curry if out of the Chinese

Visited many friteries in Belgian town squares over the years (usually on WW1 battlefield trips). They have a vast range of sauces but the Sauce Américaine is amazing.

I really fancy chippy tea now...

Just purely in chips...

Salt n vinegar, loads of.

No sauce.

Mayo when in the Dam or the peanut sauce they do.....only because I'm too British not to get involved ..

Chili and mayonaisse a lovely combo.

Just pure ketchup also works.

Glad I didn't do a poll in the end. Forgot all about the absolute joy that is a curry sauce on proper chippy chips. Just one of those things I craved every now and then when living abroad...

There’s only 2 that should ever get near a chip

Gravy

Curry sauce

In that order

I didn't realise some were planning on drenching their chips in whatever they'd chosen.

In a pot to the side so you can dip, bloody monsters.

I do not limit myself.

Just with S&V.
Tomato sauce.
Mayo.
Chip shop curry sauce.

Just depends how I feel.

(Nearly put mushy peas but it isn't a sauce).

Salt & vinegar always, and preferably drowning in the vinegar.

Salt and sauce is incredible as well....

Ketchup or Mayo is fine

Another fan of lashings of salt and vinegar

But gravy or curry depending how the mood takes

I was a huge fan of fish, chips, and tartare sauce, but all shop-bought tartare sauces round our way have got rapeseed oil in them, and that stuff doesn't like me

The Pengest Munch lad on YouTube insists on having pepper on his chips. He even carries little pouches of it with him in case the Boss Man at whatever fast food joint he's visiting doesn't add the pepper for him.

Don't know why, but I love watching his reviews of fried chicken joints.
