Case in point: Maguire. Started negotiations at the behest of Mou a full year before signing him, balked at the price and stalled. Bought him for Ole at a higher price, purely because they’d done half the work the season prior. Just completely £#%&!ing inept. But Ole gets the blame

They’d already presented Mou with Lindelof and Bailly, neither of who resemble anything like the sort of CB would normally go for, hence his desperation for Maguire/Alderweireld etc.

Honestly pal, your hatred of your compatriot blinds you to the truth of the matter. Is he top level, no, did he do a good job in the face of the many challenges chucked at him while manager? Absolutely.

Recruitment, as with Mou, is about 20% down to him. The recruitment and management of the club at board level merely continued the downward spiral while Ole was at the wheel. And now they’re doing it to Erik.

Agree with this. Ole, like every other manager, has had to work with the clownshow that United has become as a club. He also genuinely gave a £#%&! and did the best he could until it all came crashing down.
Because he wasn't bald and trendy and didn't have an obvious personality disorder he was clearly an overpromoted pe teacher who was out of his depth.
Plenty before and after have done and will do a worse job. This club is unmanageable until the yanks £#%&! off or put people in charge of running the club who know what they are doing.
