Default No excuses, but.........

Noon kicks offs are bad enough in themselves.

But expecting us to turn up in one and play our best after a draining derby on Thursday night is little short of ridiculous.

Moronic, even obscene, scheduling by the authorities.

As I said in the main match thread, would any other major European league mess their big clubs around like this?

When you're challenging for trophies you play lots of games, simple. We've revelled in it previously.

As the thread title suggests, we were shit and did not deserve to win.

That doesn't alter the fact that expecting us to play another match that soon is taking the piss.

So when should it have been played? Tomorrow? Giving less days to prepare for Celta? It's not the fixture lists problem we can't kill off a game.

Bellers summed it up perfectly. It's a heavy run of fixtures that challenges the teams mental make up of which we have absolutely none of.

Just playing it this afternoon would have been (probably significantly) better. But no, the greedy TV gods insisted otherwise

If we are tired then it might be a good idea to try to keep the ball and dictate the tempo of the match to suit us instead banging long balls down the pitch and chasing after it

the main point here is that we're tired because we have to play long into most of our matches, often having to step it up in the last 10 instead of wind it right down. this is because we don't score enough goals.

so our situation is the natural extension of being nearly ready to challenge at the top but not quite

Yes, one is reminded of the 1997/98 campaign when we could barely scrape together 11 fit players towards the end

Agree with RIC.

Plucking kick off times out of their arses. Bunging us - or whoever - in the worst possible slot.
